As my late father would say -
Howdy, partner.

I’m Anna Baeth (everyone calls me Baeth, like faith with a B). I am the Director of Research for Athlete Ally, a field hockey coach, and a public speaker and advocate for gender inclusion in sport.

All About Me

I’m passionate about the power of voice, narrative, and collaboration to create meaningful change in sport and society. My work bridges research, advocacy, and education, focusing on inclusion, gender equity, and fostering consensus in polarized social spaces. Sport one of those spaces and is also a lens through which we see ourselves and our society. I aim to spark dialogue about why sport matters and how it can be a force for equity and connection.

As a researcher, I oversee novel longitudinal projects on LGBTQI+ representation, policy analysis, and inclusivity in athletics. Beyond the data, I lead a vibrant team of researchers working to advance equity in sport through evidence-based advocacy. Whether it’s analyzing NCAA policies, tracking Title IX developments, or amplifying the stories of marginalized athletes, my aim is to ensure every voice is heard and valued in sport.

My academic journey spans a Ph.D. in Sport Sociology (University of Minnesota), an M.S. in Collegiate Coaching (Smith College), and a B.A. in Sociology/Anthropology (Swarthmore College). Along the way, I’ve been a coach, a teacher, and a collaborator—roles that have deepened my commitment to building inclusive communities.

From developing allyship frameworks to presenting on the intersections of gender, identity, and sport, my work is as much about listening and learning as it is about leading. I thrive at the nexus of research and action, using my skills in storytelling and coalition-building to tackle tough questions and spark change.

Let’s connect if you’re curious about creating a more inclusive world through sport, policy, and advocacy—or if you just want to talk about field hockey tactics or the latest in LGBTQI+ media representation.
