Hey y'all,

I’m Anna Baeth (everyone calls me Baeth, like faith with a 'B').

I'm a researcher, a field hockey coach, a public speaker, and an advocate for gender inclusion in sport.

I'm excited you're here and hope we can get curious together about sports and what's happening in the world.

About Me

I’m passionate about the power of voice, narrative, and collaboration to create meaningful change in sport and society. My work bridges research, advocacy, and education, focusing on inclusion, gender equity, and fostering consensus in polarized social spaces. Sport can be one of those spaces. It is also a lens through which we see ourselves and our society. I aim to spark dialogue about why sport matters and how it can be a force for equity and connection.

As a researcher, I oversee longitudinal projects on representation, policy analysis, and inclusive cultures in athletics. Beyond the data, I lead a team of researchers working to advance sport through evidence-based advocacy. Whether it’s analyzing sport governing body policies, tracking Title IX developments, or amplifying the stories of minoritized athletes, I want to ensure every voice is heard and valued in sport.

My academic journey spans a Ph.D. in Kinesiology via Sport Sociology (University of Minnesota), an M.S. in Exercise and Sport Studies (Smith College), and a B.A. in Sociology/Anthropology and Educational Studies (Swarthmore College). Along the way, I’ve been a coach, a professor, and a collaborator—roles that have deepened my commitment to building inclusive communities.

From developing allyship frameworks to presenting on the intersections of gender, identity, and sport, my work is as much about listening and learning as it is about leading. I thrive when research and action are leveraged together, using storytelling and coalition-building to tackle tough conversations.

I'd love to connect if you’re curious about creating a more inclusive society through sport, or if you just want to talk hockey tactics.
